Spurs stars Clare Hunt, Toko Koga and Maika Hamano will go head-to-head in the Women’s Asian Cup final. Hamano, on loan from Chelsea, scored as Japan beat South Korea 4-1 to progress to the tournament decider. There, she and Koga will meet Hunt’s Australia.
The host nation beat China 2-1 thanks to goals from Arsenal’s Caitlan Foord and a winner from Chelsea’s Sam Kerr. Obviously. China’s goal was a penalty following a mistake by the usually solid Hunt. Kerr later round the goalkeeper to seal the victory.
Things were, somewhat suprisingly, much easier for Hamano and Koga. Hamano blasted in the from an acute angle. It’s a good shot, although I don’t imagine the goalkeeper will want to watch it back. No showstopper likes being beaten at their near post.
